For
thousands of years, Marco Polo and merchant-traders of the world used
caravans on the silk route to buy and sell their goods. Liesel follows their
spirit in designing her world of ETHNIC TREASURES in JEWELRY.
She
presents two distinct groups of work. The first being traditional jewelry from
different world cultures. Such pieces are presented exactly as found. No
alterations or restringing have taken place. These unique items are your
window to people and cultures around the globe.
The
second is jewelry designed and personally strung by Liesel. Using colorful
semiprecious stones, beads and pendants, including exquisite hand blown
Murano Venetian glass from Venice, items from Asia, Africa and far-away
places. Liesel strives for a collage of color maintaining an ethnic look.
Each necklace is unique and never repeated. Keeping this in mind, look for
Tibetan turquoise and Sherpa coral strung with Chevron beads from Africa.
Born in
Austria, Liesel Paris graduated from the ART ACADEMY of VIENNA. She is an
accomplished artist in Reverse Glass painting, an almost extinct art. Her
religious Icons are in many American collections. Liesel maintains an art studio in
Borrego Springs, California, and paints south-western themes for relaxation.
